Human Resources Specialist

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Under the responsibility of the HR Manager Iberia, provide the Iberia organization with all HR
support needed, by acting as a business partner and proposing innovative & customer focus
HR solutions. He/she will provide a wide variety of professional, technical and clerical duties
related to human resources operations. This is a generalist position and as such, projects
and tasks may be assigned in all functional areas of Human Resources.
An incumbent in this position interacts frequently with all employees and exercises tact and
discretion when dealing with issues of a confidential or sensitive nature. The HR Business
Partner will also advise employees and managers on key HR policies and processes within
the organization.

PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the organization, drive the implementation of the agreed action plan and ensure
consistency with the rest of the Emerson Iberia organization.
• Provide Line managers with all the HR support needed on various topics such as
(recruitment, salary increases, disciplinary procedure, training & development, etc).
• Answer routine inquiries from employees for factual information on subjects such as,
employment opportunities and requirements, benefits, personnel policies, procedures,
practices, and salaries, and sickness reporting and claim procedures.
• In charge of HR administration and reporting for the HR Manager.
• Coordinate the PEP process, and identify suitable training courses to address the training &
development requirements. Deliver training courses as required to managers and
employees.
• Work with external/internal learning and development providers to support the delivery of
the Emerson development strategy.
• Assist in coordinating employee recruitment activities by placing
advertisements, checking advertising bills, tracking in applicant paperwork,
scheduling interview appointments, preparing and processing oral board materials, sending
out notifications.
• Coordinate the selection process and hiring of students at the organization.
• Analyze HR processes and present improvement solutions
• Manage the induction/on boarding plan for new employees as well as exit interview/process.
• Support on the job grading update according to the Mercer model.
• Assist in coordinating employees' Compensation program, including maintaining logs and
records, filing and/or monitoring appropriate forms, contracts, compiling and monitoring
various statistics, and maintaining liaison with payroll vendors, authorities, etc.
• Process new hire and separation benefits and payroll information; prepare new hire forms,
materials, and data, ensuring accuracy of data entered; coordinate final paycheck data,
including timesheet data, applicable deductions, and related payroll information; compile and
complete materials and data provided to employees during new hire orientations and exit
interviews, including benefits eligibility forms and related documents.
• Record keeping is a key part of this position's responsibilities.
• Support the talent management programmes, ensuring consistency, monitoring of actions implemented, etc.
• Handle specific HR projects.
• Assist with any Company/HR requirements (e.g. Ethics policy /Communication Plans
Pensions updates etc).
• Back up the HR team when needed.
• Provide support on the expats assignments process.
• Work and communicate effectively with the rest of the team (local and international).
• Perform related duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• University Degree in Law or Labor Relations level or equivalent
• +4 years experience as HR Generalist
• Recognized HR qualifications
• Worked in a International Organization / ideally Matrix environment
• Strong domestic Employment Law + compensation and benefits knowledge
• Fluent in English (at least one interview will be in English)
• PC Literate
• Knowledge of Portuguese regulation and payroll will be a plus
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
